The 80/20 Approach

At Hope 80/20, we truly believe in the power of moderation. Failing to moderate can make it much easier to succumb to the obstacles that accompany lifestyle changes. Therefore, our emphasis is on encouraging our participants to make healthy decisions 80% of the time, while granting themselves grace for the remaining 20%.

We all know that occasional birthday party, pizza party, or unexpected event comes up. We have found that 80% will get each participant to where they want to go with a lot less stress and less likelihood of falling off the wagon.

Awarded the CDC’s Stamp of Approval for Proven Results

The Hope 80/20 is based on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC's) National Diabetes Prevention Program. The National Diabetes Prevention Program is one of the most research-based wellness programs in the world.

The Hope 80/20 virtual program has shown to deliver measurable, risk reduction outcomes. Members who participate in the Hope 80/20 program are proven to see a minimum of 5-7% weight loss, a 0.2% reduction in HbA1C, or both. Many participants do also far surpass the 5-7% weight loss, reaching 20-30% or more.

Hope 80/20 was awarded Full Recognition status in 2015 by the CDC. We were the first online program to receive Fully Recognized status, and have been among only a few have have retained our full-recognition status since inception.
